Hints of sweet buttery rum and dessert wine goodness are the hallmarks of this mystery message from the sea.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Pyrat XO Reserve Rum
1/2 oz Gutierrez Colosia, Pedro Ximenez Sherry
1/2 oz Essensia Muscat Orange Dessert Wine
1 oz Butter Syrup*
Add all ingredients in a shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into a vessel that is suitable for transferring the contents into a small serving bottle.
Put the bottle in a large cup that you can fill with crushed ice. Sprinkle cocoa powder over the ice. Garnish with an orange peel wrapped in a “C” around a dark cherry, doubled & skewered. You can drink straight form the bottle or pour it in the cup of ice.
*Butter Syrup: Combine 1/4 cup of butter, 1/3 cup of sugar, and two chopped vanilla bean pods in 1/2 cup of boiled water. Strain into a bottle and save for future use.
